Each trade area arranged tasks for the children to do within small groups on a rotation, so that each child had the opportunity to take part in all activities, which included:
- helping to build an arch in Brickwork
- creating patterns and rag rolling with Painting and Decorating
- learning how to bend copper pipe with Plumbing
- creating a pan stand with the Joiners
- plaster casting Christmas ornaments with Plastering
- tile mosaicing Christmas pictures with Tiling.
The afternoon concluded with a performance by the children who sang 'Santa Buddy' for the staff as a way of saying thank you.
During the song, Santa arrived and was waiting in his grotto to meet the pupils and give them all a Christmas gift:
It was great that all the hard work by are own students to create the Grotto was appreciated by the local children on such a wonderful afternoon.
Here is a video from the afternoon too, showing the students singing Santa Buddy for the staff to say Thank You.
